Getting down in the hot pit before the race was quite a thrill. Below you'll see some of the sights I saw. Shut your eyes and listen to the sound as they start 'em up.

Ford had a variety of pace cars. Here at the front is the starter, a Thunderbird convertible, followed by a Mustang SVT Cobra and a Taurus.

To get photos from all angles you had to be pretty quick. Also, I learned some of Barry's powers of persuasion which helped me get around quicker.

By the way, my friend Frank Carmone (who also came down from Michigan on Wednesday, though a little earlier and he didn't lose his keys), got to see pretty much everything and everywhere WITHOUT a ticket to anything. Way to go Frank! BTW Frank is the head of a university marketing department!

Here's an off topic photo (it's not a grid photo). It shows Mr. Carmone lurking, like he does on the list.

In this picture, Frank has the green shirt on and blue cap (with yellow emblem), he's just to the left of me in the right side of photo. I'm the one taking the picture of Barry taking the picture of me. Photo courtesy of Bazza. Also in the picture, left to right are: Don Schoonover (blue shirt/green cap) and Sue Schoonover (Rennlister badge). To her left in the white tee-shirt and blue cap is my son John.
